Reach For The Stars...

"It must be borne in mind that the tragedy of life doesn't lie in not reaching your goal. The tragedy lies in having no goal to reach. It isn't a calamity to die with dreams unfulfilled, but it is a calamity not to dream. It is not a disaster to be unable to capture your ideal, but it is a disaster to have no ideal to capture. It is not a disgrace not to reach the stars, but it is a disgrace to have no stars to reach for. Not failure, but low aim is a sin." ~ Benjamin E. Mayes

Peace....Please

I have been on a bit of a sabbatical from MetroChickradio.com over the last few months. Taken on a few projects, helped others run their businesses and just plain out did a little R & R. I needed to reflect and decide how to proceed with my business, it had run it's course for me. With technology changing faster than, frankly, I can keep up with, I wanted to find a format the would stay solid for at least several years. The years I spent as an interior designer gave me a knack for spotting upcoming trends and one that has really resonated with me was late 60's - 70's thing that I have been seeing not only in clothing, accessories, but in the movies as well. This year is the 40th anniversary of Woodstock and although I was to young to have participated I certainly remember all of the hype, the clothes (you can see my favorite pants in 5th grade on my picture page---lime green bell bottoms) and even the smell of incense everywhere. I have noticed also how others can identify with this era...those our age remember it as a time of change, good or bad. I will be incorporating The Peace Chain Calender into my website starting September 1, 2009. The word Peace has a different meaning for everyone...I like to think of it as our ability to look within ourselves and reflect on how we as one person, can make a difference during our short stay on this earth. Peace is about the legacy we leave behind to those around us whether it be family, friends or strangers. I hope you will join me on my quest to share peace, and for the opportunity to share your story on how you or your business strives to share it with others. I will be posting more information on how you can participate in the next 2 weeks.....Peace Out....

Daily Daisy...

I love daisy's. Yes... I get alot of Raz about this, so I'll explain. I've often been told that I have a "flower child" air about me or a "flower child" mentality...(what does that mean?) so I figured I would make the "Daisy" my symbol. I don't know what the heck is wrong with wanting a world that's all sunshine and flowers anyway. As a child of the 60's --I was born in '61--the Daisy represented the universal symbol for beauty, purity, and innocence. Their color also links them to the sun, and thus to enlightenment and illumination. Something I think we all need to work on all embracing each and every day. So you know what I say....get out there and get your daily dose of daisy!!!
